Dr. Barbara Karin Vela, MD

Dr Barbara Karin Vela graduated from the University of Zagreb Medical School in Croatia in 2000 with a degree in medicine, subsequently obtaining her medical practioner licenses from the Ministry of Health of the Republic of Croatia, and the Department of Health, Dubai. Dr Karin Vela obtained a diploma in diving medicine in 2009, with competence to perform the initial and all others assessments of working and recreational divers or compressed air workers. She can manage diving accidents and advise diving contractors and others on diving medicine and physiology.

She worked as a general practitioner in an outpatient clinic in Zagreb, before moving to Dubai in 2004 where she took on a hospital management position and worked in the hospital’s busy 24 hour walk-in clinic prior to joining the Dubai London Clinic. Dr Karin Vela is currently working on a postgraduate degree in Anthropology. In her free time, she is a keen scuba diver, and she enjoys traveling and sports.

Dr. Karin Vela has a broad interest in all aspects of general medicine, adopting a holistic and patient centered approach.
