Our Consultant Gynaecologist/Obstetrician personally conducts antenatal care, attends all deliveries and performs post-natal examinations. The Clinic is equipped to provide all requirements for antenatal care. Clinic midwives conduct weekly antenatal classes.

Minor gynaecological procedures are carried out in the Clinic. Deliveries and Gynaecological surgery (including laparoscopic operations) are undertaken at the American Hospital where she is a visiting specialist.

Dr. Gertrud Koster

Board Certified in Obstetrics and Gynaecology 1981 (Sweden)

Trained and subsequently worked as Consultant in Huddinge Karolinska University Hospital, Stockholm until 1989. Moved to Tawam Hospital, Al Ain, where she worked as Consultant and between 1997 – 2000 as Chief of Department. Tawam is a tertiary referral centre for gynaecological oncology, reproduction medicine and high-risk pregnancies.

She has established and run an OB/Endo clinic, the first of this kind in the country. Special Interests: Infertility, PCO, Obstetrics, Cervical Pathology and Treatment.

She attends local and international gynaecological conferences. Her interests outside of her profession are her family, opera, classical music and literature.
